Seeing this memorial made me feel quite emotional . . . I've always felt that firefighters were among the most honorable people. When I was glued to the TV on 9/11, like most Americans that day, it didn't seem real until the newscaster announced the sheer number of firefighters and policemen missing. It was that moment when it became very real. Too real. My heart still goes out to those killed on that day, and all families of firefighters everywhere who have lost their heroes.
